AME School Priorities for 2023-24
Over the last year our school community started the process of developing a four-year learning plan. The past 2022-23 school year was a year of transition, as we spent time examining data and reflecting on the learning that is happening in our building. During this transitional stage, we had a series of learning conversations with staff, students, and parents and as a result we identified 3 school learning priorities, one in literacy and the other two in Social Emotional Learning.
School Priority #1 :
To support literacy growth in all learners by nurturing a love of writing. We will do this by focusing on
task design that supports students in using writing in meaningful ways.
School Priority #2:
To nurture positive leadership character traits in our students by providing authentic opportunities for
all our students to be life long leaders who build strong communities.
School Priority #3 (under construction):
This priority is still in the process of being developed by the staff and will focus on fostering student
agency (belonging, identity, mastery and efficacy) in order to support student well-being and self
advocacy.
We look forward to continuing to doing further learning as a staff to help support our students in these
priority areas. Please stay tuned for more information throughout the year.
