Student Health and Medication

Parents are asked not to send children to school if they are ill.  If a student has a medical condition that may require emergency action (diabetes, epilepsy, anaphylaxis, asthma etc), it is important that we have a medical alert planning form to refer to in an emergency.  These forms are available at the school office and it is the parent's responsibility to ensure they are filled out at registration and updated each year.

If medication is to be administered to a student during school hours, parents need to pick up and return a Request for Administration of Medication at School form completed by the prescribing physician. The medication must be provided in the original labelled container and updated as needed.  Medications are kept in the office while school is in session and taken home at the end of the school year. For more information, please contact our school secretary.

Life-Threatening Allergies

Our school is a designated allergy aware building.  We make every attempt to be sensitive to the allergies of those who work and learn in our building.  Several of our students have been diagnosed with life threatening allergies to peanuts/nuts.  A gentle reminder to not send peanut butter or treats with nuts to school.

We are also a “scent free” building, due to staff and students registered with life threatening scent allergies and sensitivities

Thank you, in advance for your consideration and cooperation.
